SgriptioFest made its long awaited return in 2022 providing a platform for community writers, actors and directors to share their new work in all formats!
SGRIPTIOFEST is back for an exciting third festival in 2022! We are looking for emerging and community writers to produce short scripts / extracts from longer scripts of 10 pages or less. Our favourite ones will then be either filmed and performed as part of our livestream or rehearsed for a live reading at the in person festival here in Aberystwyth in February 2022.
“Hi, Fi a’r Peth / Her, Me and It” is a ground-breaking project by Aberystwyth-based theatre company Awaken Productions and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, designed to share the stories of people who have experienced sexual violence and raise awareness for young people
Our audio drama project, produced in collaboration with Blood Sweat and Tea Productions Ltd and written by Daniel Abbott, is currently being featured in the top tier of the international “Hear Now” Audio Fiction and Arts Festival.
“Her, Me and It” a new film by Awaken Productions in collaboration with AMP Media and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, has begun its pre-production phase.
We are delighted to have received the first award of £3000 from the Anna Evans Community Arts Grant in 2021.
Early in 2020, Awaken Productions were awarded a £10000 grant to aid them in producing a brand new play to tour schools and community youth groups.
We are pleased to announce that the first part of “Little Boots”, our new audio play made in collaboration with Blood, Sweat and Tea Productions will be released on March 1st 2021. The remainder of the series will be aired throughout March, with four parts in total.
The last year has been a difficult time for all arts and events companies, technicians, artists and freelancers, and even more so for emerging artists and companies. With no way to provide valuable in-person experiences, whether they are live performances, exhibitions, workshops or other arts activities, we have all had to learn, adapt and create new work that is possible from a distance.
