OUR PROJECTS
Venus’ Flytrap
Written and Directed by Anna Sherratt
Currently In Development
Caoimhe bought a therapy plant to brighten up her small dreary flat. Little does she know that this "flower" will drag her through time, space and the world of sexology. This “witty and honest” comedy-drama by Anna Sherratt is our next upcoming play aimed at reducing shame and stigma around a common sexual health condition.
Sections of the play were performed at the Bread and Roses Theatre (2025) and Disability Arts Cymru’s “Crafu” event at Chapter Arts (2026). "Trap Pryfed Fenws" gained top tier recognition for “Medal y Dramodydd” at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol in 2025.
We now aim to Research and Develop the show to take it to its next phase.
“This is a play that captures the imagination, entertains and it’s full of interesting dialogue that is witty and unique.”

Awaken Productions bring this unique multi-linear piece of theatre to life, with alternative story options as the audience roll a selection of large dice! Many performances have included special charity fundraisers for Young Lives VS Cancer – a charity that supports young people and their families through the devastation of cancer. The piece also features original music written by young people on the Young Lives VS Cancer music programme. This is a one-of-a-kind evening, with laughter, tears, and above all, hope.
“All oncology nurses should see it”
“Truly one of the best things I’ve seen in the last 5 years”
“Brilliantly done. You won’t see the same show twice!”

Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund in 2021, “Hi, Fi a’r Peth | Her, Me and It” is a play with a raw and moving story set inside the brain of an A Level student. After experiencing sexual violence from a classmate, the audience join Lucy in facing difficult truths as she learns to live with “It” (the thing that happened) and accept “Girl” (the person Lucy was before experiencing trauma).
The Lockdowns called for us to make the project accessible from home, so we teamed up with actor Mari Fflur Rowlands and The Content Box to turn it into films in Welsh and English. We also held a viewing and trauma informed discussion with young people aged 17-25, teachers and parents to promote honest discussion of the problems and potential solutions for tackling sexual violence.
"It’s made me feel more confident to talk about it with people I know and not just online.”
"Mae'n bwnc anodd a thywyll iawn, ond mae’n bendant bod angen ei drafod er mwyn tyfu dealltwriaeth a chyfleoedd ehangach i fwy o bobl gael eu haddysgu."
Sgriptio
Writing Collective
7pm Each Saturday - Discord
Sgriptio is an in person and online forum for writers, actors and directors of all experience levels to share new writing and ideas across mediums with their peers, and give feedback and advice to others in a relaxed setting.
We’ve commissioned workshops with professional writers including Lucy Gough, Eric Ngalle Charles, Phil Okwedy, and Elgan Rhys to provide valuable industry insight. Our writers have gone on to produce their own plays and films, secure funding, have their work published, and win short story writing prizes.
All are welcome to join us each Saturday at 7pm on our discord server, whether they are just getting into writing, are experienced bards or simply enjoy acting and hearing new work.

The Roman Empire is falling apart. As the tyrannical reign of Tiberius Caesar comes to an end, his adopted nephew, Gaius, steps into the breach. Guided by his beloved sister, Drusilla, Gaius seems poised to get Rome back on track... until his mind begins to break. Surrounded by ambitious praetorians, vicious siblings and stubborn senators, Gaius descends into a madness beyond even his own reckoning.
A collaboration between Blood, Sweat and Tea Productions LTD and Cwmni Ennyn Awaken Productions.
“The writing is crisp and the production absorbing... it felt like being in a theatre again! Bliss!”
Cartref Project
In collaboration with Aberystwyth Arts Centre
In Memory Of Anna Evans
In 2019 we collaborated with Aberystwyth Arts Centre on a HEFCW funded project called Cartref/Home. Lead Producer Anna Evans designed the project to reach multiple generations of people in rural Ceredigion and encourage connections between them.
Students from Aberystwyth University received training from Anna Evans and Lead Artist Anna Sherratt to assist in facilitating visual and performing arts workshops in Tregaron Family Centre, Bryntirion Residential Home, Ysgol Henry Richard and Ysgol Pontrhydfendigaid.
Anna Evans tragically passed away before the project had its final exhibition, so Anna Sherratt oversaw final preparations at Aberystwyth Arts Centre in her memory. The final exhibition included a rich variety of work including films, original music, storytelling, tepees, photography, carpentry, sculptures, poetry and paintings, as well as a community celebration of all the participants' hard work over the seven months.

From outdoor theatre near historic mansions to pop up shows in a beach bandstand, and from supporting young theatre makers to providing performance and backstage workshops to people of all walks of life, we make sure every aspect of what we make is for and with rural Welsh communities. We work across mediums including theatre, walkabout shows, installations, audio dramas and livestreams. We believe no one should be left out when it comes to sharing stories in Welsh, English and any language in the room. Our work has included people in residential homes, homeless and rough sleepers, Youth Justice groups, victim-survivors of sexual violence, students, babies, young children, older people and voices across disability, race, sexuality, gender and background.
